Draw HD 2.0

This game is aimed at kids 2 and up, and is a simple drawing program.  It is the same as my previous drawing program, Draw HD, but has several new features.

  • Use your fingers to draw.  You can now choose colors, or use rainbow.
  • The buttons enable various brushes and tools.  The button at the top reveals more options.  Tools are:  brush, lines, fill, stamp, and color picker.
  • Shake the Zune to clear the screen.
  • Touch the “fade” text at the top to control fading. It can be On, Off, or Fast.
  • Touch the “pressure” text at the top to control pressure. When pressure is on, pushing harder on the screen results in a larger brush.
  • The rightmost stamp button loads images from your Zune’s Pictures library.  Press it again to load a new one.
  • Updated 3/22/10:  Added color support to the stamps, and sped the whole thing up considerably (especially when in landscape mode).

You don’t have to be a toddler to use this app. It is a great app.

If you would like more apps that toddlers aren’t capable of using, you can make them yourself instead of complaining.

The download link should now be fixed.

peter: If you had a zune hd and a toddler I think you’d see the reason for it.

doogle: thanks. I was trying in this version to make it something that little kids, older kids, and adults could all use. But the focus is on little ones. That’s why the button to add more functionality is so far from the rest, so little kids don’t accidentally hit it, why the default is for stuff to fade away, etc.

is there a way to enlarge the images that you stamp onto the screen?

King: yes. Turn on pressure, and then flatten your finger against the screen. Works for most stuff.

I just updated the package (3/22). Even if you don’t care about colored stamps, it is much faster now and bad rendering in landscape mode is fixed.

Wrestler: first follow the instructions here: http://zhdapps.com/news/tutorials/installing-gamesapps/ Then download the zip to your desktop and double click on it. It will open like a folder. Drag the ccgame file onto your desktop. Doubleclick on that, and it will install. You can delete the zip and ccgame files when you’re done.
